Seeing one of these NPCs appear when you’re on the grind helps boost your morale. Other NPCs include Komainu and Fat Cat. Final Fantasy XIV (as of this writing) has over 180 mounts. And this goes up with every other patch. Some of them awe you with their beauty and music, others are showpieces so people know you defeated a rare challenge, and then there are those made to make you smile (Fat Chocobo, for instance).First two raids we get the mount drops first try, and then with Ifrit we end up doing like a good 10-20 runs before it drops. Overall took probably about an hour or two of grinding in total with him. So on the last fight with Ifrit two horns drop, the ifrit horn and nightmare. It took me a week of farming Steel and Flame but it finally dropped eventually. Those were the only two I was missing, but had to bite to bullet and decided to do the duels instead after 2 weeks of grinding them. I promise they do!
